Chief (Barr.) Bassey Inyang was married to Deaconess Grace Bassey Inyang, his beloved wife of over four decades. Their union is blessed with three children, Charles, Patrica, and Vincent, their spouses, Margaret (Bose), Sam (Okhaide), and Sarah, and grandchildren (Jeremy, Claire, Liam, Paul, Gemma, Zoey, and Michael) who continue the family legacy of service and faith.
Faith and Community
Chief (Barr.) Bassey Inyang was a devout Presbyterian and a Jerusalem Pilgrim (JP). Over the decades, he served the Church as Parish Treasurer, Board Chairman, Father Isaac of MCA Ikot Ansa Parish, and Legal Adviser to the Northern Calabar Presbytery. He championed community development as Chairman, Ono-Ito Development Union, and President, Ito Leadership Forum, leading projects such as the renovation of the Ono-Ito Town Hall, Ito Central Health Centre, and the Comprehensive High School Ito.
A recipient of over a dozen honours, he held traditional titles including Eze-Udo of Ogbaland (2007) and Obong Uwana of Ono-Ito (2021). His national recognitions included the Pan-African Legacy Award for Patriotism and Conflict Resolution (2008) and numerous community and youth leadership awards.
