A Tribute to a Father Figure – From Most Reverend Israel B Izuogu (JP)

Grandfather, like I used to call you, saying that I have missed you will be an understatement because of what you stood for.

You did not discriminate among the people you dealt with. Your pieces of advice, simple approach to life, and your fatherly role at every point will be highly missed.

You were a very strong support system to those who had the opportunity to meet you in person. The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Ikot Ansa Parish, the MCA, NG, PYPAN, CGIT individuals and families will miss you a great deal. But we are consoled knowing that you lived a life worthy of emulation and have bequeathed a legacy worthy of emulation.

As you take your bow from this stage called life, from this side of the divide, my earnest prayer to God is that your soul will find eternal repose in the bosom of the Lord whom you served and believed in.

Rest on, Grandfather.

Take your rest, The Bar
